For the first time, the Fire Brigade is bypassing traditional media to involve influencers in their communication. Our goal? To reach young adults, motivate them to volunteer, and restore respect for the job!
Content creation
With the cooperation of well-known personalities Yemi Oduwale, Marie Smeets, and Gerben Tuerlinckx, we headed to the actual fire station in Mechelen and the fire academy Paulo in Ghent to create authentic content. We produced realistic footage that showcase what volunteers can experience with all the necessary facilities, including the correct safety measures.
Content collaboration
In addition to the professional videos from our camera crew, the creators were also encouraged to reflect their experiences in content that resonates with their personal style. For instance, Gerben often features a ‘Snack of the Week’ where things can go wrong with frying oil, Yemi tested his fitness against an experienced firefighter, and Marie chose her ‘Outfit of the Day’ with her typical humorous twist.
All the footage is supported with a media budget and utilized by various fire zones to aid recruitment efforts throughout the year. This has resulted in over 2.3 million views and 75,000 likes.
